Purpose of Treatment
Seeing Dr. Anderson for diagnosis and treatment of TMJ (TMD) will improve your daily life. Common treatment goals and outcomes are that you’ll sleep better at night and start living without chronic pain and migraines. Prior to coming to us, many of our patients had lost hope for a life without chronic pain. We love being able to restore that hope—all without surgery.
Symptoms of TMJ
People who are suffering from TMJ (TMD) often experience a wide range of symptoms, commonly including jaw pain, severe headaches or migraines, ringing in the ears, and teeth grinding. Stress may worsen the symptoms and lead to dizziness and neck/shoulder pain. The most common cause of TMJ (TMD) is misaligned teeth (i.e., a bad bite), but it can also be caused by an injury from a blow to the jaw or face. In addition to daily pain, untreated TMJ (TMD) may lead to loose and worn teeth and degeneration of the joint and jaw bone.
What this Treatment Involves
